SMART Recharge Bonanza is now extended till December 2010

Now 15 cars and 65 Laptops till December 2010 are up for grabs with SMART Recharge Bonanza, as the exciting campaign by Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel has extended the promotion due to high demand from their customers.


SMART Pre Paid customers who have registered their connections in compliance with the Mobitel subscriber registration policy can subscribe to the draw by dialing the short code #151# from their handset.


SMART Recharge Bonanza consumer promotion is intended to offer Mobitel SMART customer with a total recharge of Rs.200, one chance to win a Maruti Suzuki Alto Sportz car Monthly and Asus Laptops with 3.5G Internet dongle weekly between the period October 2009 to December 2010.


On registering for SMART Recharge Bonanza;

  • For every Rs.200 recharge in a Month, the customer stands one chance to win the Maruti Suzuki Alto Sportz car.
  • For every Rs.200 recharge in a Week, the customer stands one chance to win the ASUS Laptop with the 3.5G Internet dongle.

"We are pleased to be the first telco in Sri Lanka to offer the most valuable haul of prizes in connection with a recharge promotion, which is part of Mobitel's continuous effort to deliver both value and innovative services to our customers," He further stated.


Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel, the National Mobile Service Provider and the Official Sponsor of the National Cricket Team, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sri Lanka Telecom. In January 2004, the company launched its fully-fledged 2.5G GSM network that is EDGE/GPRS enabled and designed to operate on dual band. In December 2007, the company launched its 3.5G HSPA network - the first Super 3.5G network in South Asia. Further, Mobitel successfully demonstrated HSPA + MIMO technology with down link speed up to 28.8 mbps for the first time in the South Asian region. Investments committed to date in the 3.5G/2.5G networks and service offering amounts to over US$300 mn. The company plans to increase its combined number of base stations to 3000 by the end of 2010.
